When I joined my first home business, I remember getting so excited with the idea of leverage in my life. All I had to do was sponsor a few people and sooner or later, I would have an army of people sponsoring other people into my business. Sounds very simple right?
This is exactly how some of the top corporations in the world work today. Think of McDonald’s for instance. Ray Kroc the company’s founder, knew what leverage meant. Instead of focusing on how many burgers his store could sell, he focused on how many burgers others could sell for him. This is why Ray Kroc sold his franchise opportunity to others. More franchises sold equals more burgers sold, which equals more money for Ray.
As network marketers, our industry is no different. With each person that we sponsor, we are selling our franchise opportunity. More distributors means more products are sold. But here is what makes McDonald’s a really interesting story…
It’s food is TERRIBLE for you. (even though it tastes good) It’s far from fresh and healthy. Even though the product stinks, McDonald’s is the world’s most successful food franchise in human history.
How the heck did that happen?

Ray Kroc knew that his product was not going to be the most important piece of the puzzle when it came down to creating success. The same goes for any network marketing business. When you have customers, the key is to give customers what they want. Network marketing lead generation is not just about generating leads, it’s also about providing value to the end user.
You must have a system that almost anyone can duplicate. Ray had developed a system that gave potential franchise buyers exactly what they were looking for. It was to simply make money. This is exactly what Ray promoted.
He didn’t sell them the food, or how great his restaurants were. Ray sold a system.
He sold a system that any unskilled, inexperienced person could follow and still make sales.
